Group: Land Surveying
Position: Right of Way Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Our team of 40 professionals have access to latest tools such as, GPS, robotic, UAV technology, terrestrial scanning and hydrographic surveying equipment. Our Land Surveying team does it all, from ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, to topographic and boundary surveys, to hydrographic, transportation (bridge and road) and utility route surveys, to right-of-way engineering services, right-of-way staking and construction staking.
Responsibilities
Assist Professional Surveyor with the following Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Location Control Route Survey Plats
- Review of title and encumbrance reports
- Preparation of Right of Way Parcel Plats (Exhibit “B”) and Legal Descriptions (Exhibit “A”)
- Preparation of additional Right of Way Engineering documents, Parcel Documentation, Area Computations, L10 and Fee Taking Memo’s)
- Right of Way Plan Development
- Process field data into topographic surveys (a plus but not required).
- Analyze record documents and establish layout property lines, alignments, and easements
- Download LiDAR, aerial photography and other GIS data from public domain sites
Qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience as Right of Way Technician or a surveyor-in-training candidate
- Fluent in Civil3D (current versions)
- Fluent in Autodesk AutoCAD (current versions)
- Microstation experience a plus
- Familiarity with INDOT’s Right-of-Way Engineering manual and standards
- Possess strong communication skills and technical writing skills
- Knowledge of other related software (Trimble Business Center, GIS, etc) is a plus but not required
