The Specialty Process Team manager is responsible to provide necessary technical support and leadership, to directing, facilitating, and coordinating the performance, development, and improvement of the overall operation. This position has the responsibility of establishing/maintaining a capable, continuously improving, high-quality workforce with a focus on improving plant equipment reliability, quality, process, and efficiency.

$94,000 - $174,000 plus bonus
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
- Directs sugar refining operations on designated shift.
- Directs teams of specialized employees ensuring good manufacturing practices, GMP and safe operating procedures.
- Achieves standard production volume, quality standards, and regulatory compliance through the supervision of hourly personnel on rotating shifts.
- Controls the use of energy (fuel and steam), water, air, and electric power in an ongoing effort to reduce refining costs. Controls the use of refining aids. Ensures that cost objectives are met.
- Develops supervisory and operating personnel to ensure optimum use of labor force assigned to each shift. Evaluates the performance of subordinates.
- Handles employee and labor relations problems on shift within limits of the contract, delegated authority and established guidelines.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement process.
- Identifies and coordinates non-routine maintenance activities.
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve results through subordinates in an organized labor environment.
- 3-5 years industrial supervision experience is required.
- The applicant must be able to manage a liquid process system utilizing his or her basic knowledge of fluid systems, general chemistry, and
- mathematics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
- Supervises both union and salary employees.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Quantifiable leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and lead employees in a team based environment.
- Computer literacy is required (MS Office, SAP, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively with subordinates, peers and supervision.
- Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
