What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Improvement Engineer position at American Sugar Refining?
Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America's first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from the field to the table. OVERVIEW
This position will be located at the New Hope Power Plant, supporting the water treatment plant operations at New Hope Power Plant as well as surrounding facilities. The position will report to the Director of Cogeneration and Mills.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight of specific processes and projects working with the cogeneration powerplant, and Mills to support power generation, milling, refining and Distribution Center
- Project management may require purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and startup of projects
- Project design, development, and management that are specific to the operations
- Conduct optimization assessments to identify existing and potential opportunities, propose solutions to improve performance primarily in the areas of energy and chemicals consumption, and reliability
- Support capital projects identification and execution
- Maintain a high degree of availability to a 24/7 operation
- Are or willing to become a subject matter expert in PI Vision analysis and related Process Condition analytics
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
- B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, or Mechanical Preferred) or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in a production environment or similar industry
- Previous leadership experience
- Strong commitment to safety & quality
- Demonstrated leadership, strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage personnel and work closely with maintenance and project departments
- Ability to look beyond the task at hand, to anticipate challenges and develop options to overcome them
- Subject matter expert knowledge level of a variety of process unit (Boiler and Industrial Water Plant) operations
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
