What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineering Technician position at American Time & Signal Company?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop manufacturing processes/procedures and ensure processes/procedures are up-to-date and accurate
- Work with the production team to test and validate documentation for pre-production product runs
- Process corrective action requests (CAR’s)
- Process deviation requests
- Process change requests
- Document testing results using Microsoft Word or Excel
- Works with and helps train production personnel on test setups and procedures
- Create solutions to complex technical problems in a variety of industries
- Assist engineers and scientists as they create, modify, and test products and processes
- Conduct tests and collect data
- Perform extensive research and development during the creation phase of the product
- Inspect products and processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement
- Assist in product design, development, and production*
- Build and set up equipment
- Prepare and conduct experiments
- Calculate or record results during experiments
- Create prototypes of equipment
- Conducts testing on new products, software, and fixtures
- Confers with engineers and design staff concerning product design, functionality, and improvement.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods
- Is cost-conscious and keeps costs as low as possible without affecting the quality of products.
- Coordinate problem resolution in a timely fashion using available resources
- Ensure high-quality standards are met
- Initiate, coordinate, and implement continuous improvement projects with minimal work direction
- Analyze field failures and returns to ensure that the finished product is of the right standard and meets the requirements of the consumer
- Provides technical advice to the manufacturing floor
- Provide technical support for testing qualifications and validations
- Provide input during prototype development to engineers*
