What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Associate position at American Time & Signal Company?
The Warehouse Associate will ensure quality and inventory standards are maintained throughout their daily activities. This includes activities associated with preparing kits for production, receiving and locating incoming product, and preparing product for shipment to customers. The Warehouse Associate is required to operate material handling equipment, including forklift.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving
- Inspect shipments for damage or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
- Receive incoming product and prepare for QA inspection if required.
- Put away incoming product once QA approves, or dock to stock product, verify received order against PO.
- Process paperwork, receive in drop shipments into ERP system.
- Place rejected product in RTV and process for return to vendor.
- Contact vendor for boxing product releases.
- Transfer receipts and issues to Return to Vendor location and Quarantine.
Shipping
- Print picking tickets; in ERP system check items to be shipped against picking ticket to ensure accuracy.
- Ship product using company ERP shipping system (UPS, Speedy, FedEx, Endicia, Truck Carriers).
- Organize outgoing materials, products and supplies carefully labeling and packing for shipment.
- Relay shipment details to proper departments.
- May trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments, initiates proof of delivery documents.
- Get mail and or parcels ready for post office
Production Kitting
- Pick production parts for kits based on jobs received from production.
- Manage KanBan Supplies for Warehouse
Daily activities
- Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment
- Ensure inventory and paperwork accuracy at each phase of daily tasks.
- Run Cycle Count daily.
- Keep the department clean and organized daily
