Plant Manager – Plastics Injection Molding
We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Manager to lead our Molding Division, ensuring efficient operations, quality production, and a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plastics injection molding, a strong leadership background, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of the Molding Division, ensuring that production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations are met. This role requires a hands-on leader who can optimize facility performance, manage staff effectively, and implement advanced manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the manufacture of plastic components, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Review production reports to align with safety, quality, financial, and delivery objectives.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, collaborating with environmental, health, and safety teams.
- Assist the CEO with long-term strategic planning, expansion efforts, and technology implementation.
- Identify and implement training programs to enhance workforce skills and efficiency.
- Develop an optimal management structure to streamline production operations.
- Work with executive leadership to develop and manage the operating budget.
- Deliver production and performance reports to the executive team as required.
- Oversee equipment procurement, maintenance, and facility layout for optimal efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure a safe and compliant work environment, working closely with environmental, health, and safety teams to meet FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP standards for medical manufacturing.
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term strategic planning, technology integration, and facility expansion.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support company goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment, hiring, and training of manufacturing employees.
- Manage production schedules and workforce assignments.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure adherence to company policies for disciplinary actions and terminations when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven leadership experience in plastics injection molding manufacturing.
- Excellent organizational, managerial, and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing policies, quality control, and regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, FDA, GMP, OSHA).
- Strong ability to set long-term goals and motivate teams to achieve them.
- Experience in profit & loss (P&L) management and cost control.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Willingness and ability to manage a 24/7 production facility.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10 years of leadership experience in industrial/manufacturing management.
- Extensive knowledge of plastics injection molding processes and technology.
