Cat Scan Technologists are certified radiologic technologists responsible for operating CT equipment to create diagnostic images of the human body.
They prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them accurately, as instructed by physicians.
The Cat Scan Tech maintains CT equipment, assists physicians in reading patient images, and analyzes patient conditions.
Requirements
- 1 year of recent experience in this setting
- Valid professional license or registration if required by the state
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA recommended and may be required
- Valid ARRT or ARDMS Credentials per discipline
- Specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required
