Reason for Need: Transitioning from VMWare to WindRiver
Project Details: The Automation Engineer will develop, implement, and optimize automation frameworks for VMware and Wind River platforms. The role focuses on automating deployment, management, and migration of workloads between VMware ESXi/vSphere and Wind River Hypervisor environments. The engineer will collaborate with cloud engineers, network specialists, and DevOps teams to ensure scalable, efficient, and secure automated processes across telecom, enterprise, and edge computing environments.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Automation and Scripting tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash).
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Wind River Hypervisor.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience integrating hypervisor automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere API, Wind River Studio API, and RESTful APIs.
Nice to Have Skills:
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Wind River Hypervisor Certification.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Google Cloud).
- Cisco ACI or SDN automation experience.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop automation workflows for VMware and Wind River environments, focusing on deployment, provisioning, and scaling.
- Build migration frameworks to automate transitions between VMware and Wind River Hypervisor platforms.
- Design and integrate CI/CD pipelines for hypervisor infrastructure and configuration management.
- Optimize and troubleshoot network, compute, and storage performance using automation tools.
- Automate security policies, access control, and compliance enforcement for VMware and Wind River platforms.
- Monitor hypervisor performance metrics and implement AI-driven automation for anomaly detection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability and security of automated processes.
