Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with expertise in cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Linux environments, VNF automation, and Apache Airflow workflows. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, workflow orchestration, and cloud-native infrastructure automation. This role requires deep knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization, hybrid cloud deployments, and virtual network function (VNF) automation for applications like Infoblox, SolarWinds, and Nokia 5G Packet Core VNFs.

Must-Have Skills:

• 5 years of experience in automation, DevOps, or cloud engineering.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, Linux environments, VNF automation, and Apache Airflow.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Tekton).
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for scripting and automation.
• Experince in VMware ESXi, alternative hypervisors, and virtualization technologies.
• Strong understanding of Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet for infrastructure automation
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman, LXC) and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Hands-on experience migrating workloads from VMware and integrating VNF applications.
• Expertise in Infoblox, SolarWinds, and Nokia 5G Packet Core VNFs automation.
• Experience designing and maintaining Apache Airflow DAGs for workflow automation and job scheduling.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with network function virtualization (NFV) and orchestration platforms (ONAP, OpenStack, ETSI MANO).
• Knowledge of network automation (NetDevOps, SDN, NFV).
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
• Experience working in 5G, edge computing, or telecom environments.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Developed and maintained CI/CD pipelines, automated infrastructure provisioning with Terraform/Ansible, and utilized GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Jenkins) for streamlined cloud and on-prem deployments.
• Automated Kubernetes deployments, scaling, and networking, leveraging Helm, Kustomize, and Kubernetes Operators, while managing container security and integrating cloud-native networking solutions (Istio, Calico).
• Led VMware-to-hypervisor migrations, automating VNF onboarding, lifecycle management, and orchestration for 5G network functions, utilizing Apache Airflow for workflow and data pipeline automation.
• Automated provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management of Linux environments, optimizing performance, and ensuring high availability and redundancy for critical network applications like Infoblox and SolarWinds.
• Worked across AWS, Azure, GCP, and private clouds, implementing hybrid cloud automation, integrating monitoring/security tools, and leveraging Apache Airflow for multi-cloud orchestration and dynamic scaling of VNF applications.
