Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the deployment, management, and automation of AWS environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS infrastructure, Python, and Terraform automation and experience in site reliability engineering (SRE). This role involves managing customer tickets, improving system reliability, and optimizing cloud costs.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3 years of professional systems engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure management, including EC2 architectures
- Proficiency in automated infrastructure as code (IaC) pipelines using Python and Terraform
- Experience with monitoring and observability within AWS
- Background in provisioning and de-provisioning AWS resources
- Strong troubleshooting skills for managing tickets and resolving system issues
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with cost optimization strategies in AWS
- Experience with scalable and resilient architecture design
- Knowledge of AWS cloud-native services and tools
- Exposure to site reliability engineering (SRE) practices
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1-2 support by managing incoming customer tickets and resolving system incidents (25%)
- Improve system reliability and performance through automation and SRE practices (50%)
- Optimize AWS cloud costs by analyzing usage and implementing cost-saving measures (25%)
- Monitor and troubleshoot system issues, developing automated responses to reduce manual intervention
- Support automated deployment and management of AWS cloud environments
- Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
