Job Title: Network Engineer x2
Location: Denton Texas 76205 (Hybrid)
Job Type: 1 contract-to-hire position, 1 long-term contract position
Work Environment: Hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote (fully onsite during training/onboarding)
Interview/Hiring Process: Must pass a network engineer assessment on Test Gorilla. If the candidate passes, they will be presented to the hiring manager for 2 two-step interview process: 1 virtual and 1 onsite. Depending they may just do a 1-and-done interview.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Need CJIS requirements this is a must.
Notes: Core networking, proficiency with Cisco solutions, some work and/or understanding of voice, wireless, and network security with solutions like Cisco ISE would be a bonus.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of switched LAN and WAN network design techniques and technologies
- Maintenance and administration of Phone system, Contact Center, Workforce Management, Voicemail
- Maintenance and administration of Firewalls, VPNs(Site-to-Site and Remote Access), LAN/WAN, Data Center Networking, Wireless LAN Controllers, Radius/Tacacs Server, Network Switches/Routing including VLANs, VLAN Trunking and EIGRP.
- Monitoring and support of Voice, IP, and related security services issues in and out of hours, resolving complex system and network issues and outages
- Analyze network traffic in the event of an incident or suspicious activity; report on results to management
- Procure and manage all Data and Voice lines, this includes: Cellphones, hotspots, Internet lines, PRI, etc
- Implements established documentation standards for network connectivity and cabling schemes
- Receives incoming 3rd level “calls for service,” evaluates, re-directs, and/or delivers third-level support
- Test and Perform upgrades and apply patches to network servers and devices
- Maintains confidentiality when working with sensitive information
- Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check upon hire.
- Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state-required minimum automobile liability insurance before employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state-required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law).
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with 10 years of experience involving technology services-related support, and PC experience OR Associate’s degree with 8 years of experience involving networking services-related support, and PC experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience involving networking services-related support, and PC experience.
- Must have current Cisco CCNA Certification.
Preferred Experience
- Bilingual - Spanish and English
- Two years’ experience involving technology services related to VoIP specifically Cisco Unity 7.x or with Unified Messaging, Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.x, Unified CCX Enhanced 7.0
- Extensive Call Center experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office & Visio
- Proficient in Cisco Layer 2 Switching & Cisco Layer 3 Routing
- Proficient in the software program Solarwinds
- Proficient in Cisco’s VLAN Architecture
- Proficient in IP Subnetting
- Proficient in 10000/1000/100/10 wire speeds over Fiber and Copper
