Job Description : Summary :
The Grant and Contract Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Director and to faculty by performing reviews for the approval of financial transactions in Workday and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures in relation to grants and internally funded research. The incumbent prepares and assists with accounting entries needed to ensure accurate financial records are maintained for grants and are available to PIs as needed, and provides analyses for post-award grant spending and budget projections.
This position serves as a post-award first point of contact for departmental administrators and other colleagues from across SPA and provides training in processes and procedures as needed.
Essential Functions :
1.) Financial Administration
- Conduct regular reviews of post-award accounts to ensure that financial transactions are completed successfully and accurately, using the various tools available through AU (Workday, BI, etc).
- Run, create, and review budget reports, analyze data and prepare budget projections as well as individualized financial reports upon request and in conjunction with the Director.
- Assists Director in conducting reviews of sponsored projects to ensure financial compliance.
- Assist with responding to audit requests.
- Process and track journal entries and cost transfers relating to post-award activities.
- Monitor and reconcile clearing accounts on a monthly basis.
- Provide reporting to faculty for Internally Designated Faculty Research Accounts (IDFRA) on a quarterly basis.
- Proactively recognize potential issues and notifies supervisor in the event of new or unusual problems or issues that arise.
