Summary:
Founded in 2018 as the Project on Civil Discourse, the Project on Civic Dialogue (PCD) helps students cultivate a love of and the skills for listening and communicating across differences. Though our beliefs and perspectives vary, we work from two core values: first, that dialogue is a skill that can be learned and must be practiced (and not a spectator sport). And second, that expressive freedom is a necessary condition for dialogue, but the real work is in collaborative inquiry, listening, and learning.
PCD is seeking an AU student for programming assistance over the summer. Responsibilities include planning the event calendar for Academic Year 2025-26, revising outdated documentation, strategizing for PCD advertisement for new and returning AU students, and streamlining promotional material creation processes. This role will require significant collaboration with PCD Director, Lara Schwartz, and PCD Program Coordinator, Rahul Kirkhope. The role will last for 8 weeks over the summer, outside of the Academic Year.
Responsibilities:
Planning event schedule for 2025-26 academic year and beyond.
Standardizing document formatting and updating PCD programming/marketing materials.
Strategize to increase engagement with new & returning students.
Develop PCD Alumni network.
Contacting relevant organizations to plan collaborative efforts.
Integrate PCD certificate program into existing materials.
Assist PCD Director and Program Manager with additional projects as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work:
Part-Time.
Hybrid role and the worker will be expected to be in the office at least 2-3 days a week.
Salary Range:
$17.50 per hour.
