Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting, this position assists the accounting procedures and financial reporting of a large organization with a complex accounting system. Additionally, this position will assist units across campus (Provost, University Budget Office, Office of Student Accounts, Auxiliary Services, Schools/Colleges, etc.) to ensure accounting transactions are recorded appropriately and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Essential Functions:
Analyze accounting transactions to ensure adherence to established accounting procedures.
Prepare journal vouchers, invoices, or other types of accounting schedules to maintain accurate records and an audit trail.
Work closely with the departmental budget and finance staff to ensure the timely and accurate processing and reporting of financial transactions.
Responsible for the maintenance and control of accounting subsidiary ledgers.
Prepare accounting reconciliations between university and third-party records and resolve discrepancies.
Review and edit proposed adjustments to financial records.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports to provide necessary information for appropriate personnel.
Prepare transaction analyses for the annual audits to ensure accurate record-keeping.

$29.09-$35.71 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Less than one year of relevant experience.

Must have the ability to work independently.
