Summary:
The Division of Student Affairs is seeking an undergraduate student worker to support the AU Market Food Pantry program to mitigate food insecurity issues on campus with the Student Engagement team.
Responsibilities:
Stock pantry shelves and track food pantry inventory for weekly and monthly reports and inform Coordinator for Student Support of low food stock.
Organize backend pantry client data, track food distribution.
Verify and update community resources to share with students in need via social media.
Assist with pantry distribution days (drive-thru and in-pantry stocking and inventory).
Assist with preparations for Market Pantry events, both virtual and in-person.
Assist with deliveries from the Capital Area Food Bank and other vendors used to stock The Market.
Work with Coordinator to support The Market Social Media accounts keep Instagram updated and engaging.
Work with groups on campus to bring awareness to the Market and partner for special programs.
Create and present presentations to small groups, classes, or at the request of stakeholders.
Collect donations from donation bins at MGC, Constitution Hall, AUPD East Campus, Anderson Hall, Kerwin Hall.
Show excellent customer service to our customers.
Other projects as assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Part-Time.
8-10 hours per week
Preference given to availability during open hours of the Market or delivery/stocking time:
Monday: 12-7 PM (open Market)
Tuesday:12-3 PM (delivery/stocking)
Wednesday: 12 pm - 7 pm (open Market)
Thursday: 12-3 PM (delivery/stock)
Friday: 11 am - 4 pm (open Market)
Compensation:
$17.50 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
6 months of work or volunteer experience.
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relation skills.
Compassionate and engaging personality.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with service and volunteer work.
Competence with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
