Marine Technician/Mechanic

Skills/Qualifications: We are looking for detail oriented, quality focused people who go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right every time. You must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and must be able to be physically active for long periods of time. Experienced technician with 2 or more years of experience with Inboard, Outboard, and sterndrive boats.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- High school Diploma or further education such as college
- Previous mechanical and boating experience - 2 years experience working on inboard and sterndrive boats preferred
- Knowledge of marine equipment, engines, or boat systems a plus
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
- Reliable transportation
- Prefer an individual that has his/her own tools to start
- Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records
- Communicate well in both written & verbal form
- Capable of managing time effectively & multi-tasking as necessary
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors and be physically active for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Consistently lift/carry 10-20lbs
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Job Description: Full-Time
- The Boat Mechanic is responsible for performing repair work on inboard, sterndrives and outboard marine engines using hand and power tools and technical manuals
- Diagnosis issues using diagnostic tools such as computer programs etc
- The ideal candidate will regularly inspect and test engine equipment to determine mechanical issues and problems
- Punctuality & consistent attendance
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic system, and electrical problems
- Conduct maintenance and upkeep on water vessel
- Complete service records and repair documents
- Communicate concerns & job-related issues to the manager or supervisor
