Primary Role
Directs and performs a variety of tasks to assist in the work of a crew or crews engaged in the construction, maintenance and operation of water works facilities.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with on-call rotation
Key Accountabilities
- Assigns duties to department employees as directed. Installs and maintains water pipelines, services, valves, pumps, meters, tank connections and other water facilities.
- Trains and rates the work performance of crew members. Completes all company reports related to crew.
- Determines staff, equipment and materials needed for each job. Enforces safety regulations as required for the assigned work
- Inspects meters, valves, hydrants, and pipes to detect defects such as leaks or malfunctioning meters; tightens pip connections as needed.
- Investigates customer complaints. May record meter readings at Lift Stations
- May break-up pavement to dig excavations in preparation to remove or repair pipe Performs work as assigned by supervisor.
Experience/Education
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years in construction, plumbing or building trades.
License/Certifications
- Valid drivers license required, Class E preferred or ability to obtain within 2 months from hire.
- CDL B with tanker endorsement required within 1 year of hire.
- Missouri Wastewater Class C license required or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire.
- DOT medical card or ability to obtain during pre-employment.

- Must be able to perform essential functions and meet the physical requirements for the position.
