Work Schedule
Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Possible OT and call out and possible nights and weekends.
Primary Role
To perform duties of a laborer unless filling temporary vacancies of Water Treatment Operator, Lab Worker, or Production Clerk.
Key Accountabilities
- Use weed eater, chain saw, mower, forklift and tractor (with various attachments) at various locations.
- Move hoses to basins and filtration units for de-sludging activities. Includes manual operations of fire hoses and hydrants.
- Perform janitorial tasks where directed. Use mop, broom, shovel and various hand tools as directed.
- Paint walls, floors, piping/fixtures, pumps and motors using manual roller, brush or electric sprayer.
- Drive Company vehicles (including but not limited to cars, trucks and vans) as required and includes pulling and backing trailers.
- Collecting and analyzing water samples (chlorine, pH, turbidity, etc.)
- Assisting Water Treatment Operator with day-to-day operations of the water treatment facility.
- Attend training classes to obtain water treatment certification.
- Constantly follows established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience/Education
- High School graduate or State-recognized Educational Equivalency Certificate required.
- Specific vocational preparation includes an occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, on-the-job training, or essential experience.
Work Environment
- All work is outside work in all types of weather and involving contact with water or other liquids.
- Lifting/carrying items weighing over 50 lbs up and down steps or grades, including use of various hand tools and filter aide. Exposure to ambient temperature extremes both hot and cold.
- Potential exposure to poison ivy, oak, sumac, insects, etc.
- Walk at heights and on narrow passageways.
- Subject to noise exposure and vibration from large pumps and motors.
- Possess effective computer skills and understand data shown on a computer screen.
- Work in confined areas/spaces.
