Summary
The Production Coordinator ensures schedules, resources, and logistics run smoothly from pre-production through final delivery. This individual will act as the central communication hub between departments, managing timelines, tracking progress, and resolving issues to keep production on track.
This role will touch all facets of production planning to include reviewing and distributing production orders and shipment schedules, tracking and reporting on the progress of work orders and their completion dates, and generating reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems to optimize production and shipping operations.
Requirements:Primary Responsibilities
- Lead by example with a Safety First mindset in every task
- Create and manage production schedules for shop operations, ensuring timely product delivery
- Working with the Sales team, review production orders to fully understand deadlines and production schedule
- Manage visual presentation of production schedule to drive situational awareness of order status across departments
- Prepare job packets to release to production team
- Distribute job files to facilitate drafting of shop drawings
- Work closely with shop teams to allocate resources and materials efficiently
- Monitor production processes, adjusting to stay on track and reduce downtime
- Maintain inventory records, balancing material availability and stock levels
- Keep internal teams and management updated on production status, delays, or issues
- Collaborate with departments to ensure that adequate amounts of production materials, various tools, and other items are available
- Lead overall office administration to include assorted recordkeeping, receipt and distribution of mail and other non-material deliveries, coordinating meetings and office events
- Promote interdepartmental knowledge-sharing to support the achievement of production, quality, and on-time delivery goals

Education, Experience & Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in production coordination/similar role
- Proficient in production planning software (ERP, MRP, or similar tools)
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field is preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in similar role
- 3-5 years of experience supporting fabrication scheduling and production processes
- Experience with NetSuite ERP
Skills & Characteristics
- Understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
- Experienced in inputting, managing, and extracting data from an ERP system and other technical applications
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on efficiency and execution
