What are the responsibilities and job description for the Next Pick/ Eng. Trainer position at American Wholesale Book Company, LLC?
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Next Pick Trainer is assigned to work 2nd shift and is responsible for training newly hired Next Pick associates, as needed. Additionally, the Next Pick Trainer is responsible for efficiently and accurately scanning, counting and stacking inventory. The Next Pick trainer uses a forklift or other PIT to move/stack inventory
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to manage inventory
- Stack product on shelves
- Count product to be stocked
- Key products into system using an RF scanner
- Moves product from overhead areas to stocking locations
- Responsible for following all safety rules, regulations and guidelines
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a distribution center/warehouse setting and with the use of radio-frequency scanner preferred
Skills
- PIT experience and/or the ability to become PIT certified
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in teams or independently
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Stand for long periods of time, up to 4 continuous hours and up to 8 – 12 hours during a shift
- Frequent walking through the department/building
- Use hands/arms to operate the required equipment and repetitive motion activities
- Lift objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device
- Bend, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job
- Operate power equipment
- Ability to work in a noisy environment
- Ability to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures
- Willing and able to work in variable work locations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

- 10 hour shift
- Evening shift
