Receiving Supervisor

The Receiving Supervisor will oversee and coordinate all inbound logistics and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, safety, and compliance while leading and supporting the receiving team through effective planning, communication, and process improvement.
Core Responsibilities:
Scheduling of inbound containers, and trucks on daily basis- Checking inbound freight for accuracy, quality and damage
- Receive all material into inventory, ensure all material accurately labeled
- Planning warehouse space for all incoming material, preparing beforehand
- Assigning received material to appropriate BIN locations for stock replenishment
- Unload freight in a safe timely manner, ensure all material is being handled properly to
- Train department staff or other warehouse personnel in receiving operations
- Delegate and prioritize duties stated above to receiving staff
- Continue to develop and build processes, techniques and strategies to improve workflow
- Administrative duties including, filing of paperwork, policy enforcement, answering
as freight carriers and suppliers
- Keep receiving area clean and organized, monitor and ensure all equipment (hand tools,
required, and returned to their areas when no longer in use
- Address / resolve any inventory/receiving discrepancies
- Participate in interview process of new department personnel
- Facility security integrity including setting alarms, and locking doors when facility is not
- Monitor and keep metrics for all inbound freight (# of containers, pieces)
- Receive and address all RMA’s in timely and accurate manner
- Identifying, correcting, mitigating any safety hazards that may arise.
- Assist in any other warehouse duties that may arise.
- Attend training for duties related to position
- Assist during Inventory
- Assist Warehouse manager with tasks and duties as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- At least 2 years prior Warehouse experience
- Punctual, dependable, loyal, and professional
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Wants a long-term relationship with a growth company
- Willing to accept coaching
- Understanding of shipping, warehouse, or inventory operations
- Knowledge of and respect for safety practices in a warehouse
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to learn in-house systems needed for job
- Must be able to use lift items and forklifts
- Ability to obtain use various transportation equipment (motorized and non-motorized), and to obtain forklift or picker license if required
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel programs
