American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450 employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 3rd Shift Production Operator - Packaging role in our Schofield, WI facility.
JOB SUMMARY
The Production Operator – Packaging is responsible for working in a safe, efficient manner to maximize production and shipping of products and raw material.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- PRODUCTION
- Operate a machine, utilizing good hand-eye coordination and working at a fast pace to accomplish hourly rates
- Maintain work station by sweeping and shoveling excess material around packaging equipment and warehouse during the end of the shift cleanup
- As required, perform outside duties including sweeping and picking up debris
- SAFETY
- Exercise caution in the production area due to mobile equipment moving the finished product out of the production area
- Attend monthly safety meetings
- Attend safety trainings as needed and complete required testing with sufficient results
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
- Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in varying temperatures within the production area (can range from 55-100 degrees, depending on the time of year)
- Stand/walk approximately for 8 hours daily on a concrete floor
- Be able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areas
- Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
- Candidate MUST be able to work in a smoke-free environment
EXPERIENCE
Industrial Machine Operating: 1 Year (Preferred)

Starting: $19.00 per hour
