2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician
American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450 employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician role in our Circleville, OH facility.
JOB SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance Technician will operate in a safe and efficient manner of troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machinery. The primary duties include:
MAINTENANCE
- Studying blueprints, technical manuals, engineering specifications to maintain with fix equipment
- Identifying the tools, equipment, and skills necessary for repair and maintenance work
- Installing new machinery
- Performing basic diagnostic tests
- Checking machine performance
- Dismantling machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists
- Testing damaged machine parts
- Replacing damaged and worn parts if necessary
- Reassembling machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
- Cleaning and lubricating machinery
- Keeping records of repair and maintenance work
- Working with the production personnel to schedule preventative and break-down maintenance
- Performing root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/failures, take required corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions
- Welding: TIG, MIG, OXY-Acetylene
- Repairing and Maintenance of AWF Trailer Fleet
- Installing and maintaining electrical motors, industrial drives, PLC’s, VFD’s and MCC’s
- Troubleshooting 24 Volt and 120 Volt Control
- Run/bend conduit and pulling wire
- Reading electrical schematics for 440 V- 480 V voltage and control circuits
- Repairing and maintaining of all electrical and control functions in the facility
- Installing and maintaining various electric controls, automation, and instrumentation
QUALITY
- Maintaining and verifying that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, office personnel, and customers
- Assisting in the implementation of new procedures as needed
- Maintaining proper equipment records
SAFETY
- Operating equipment as per the SOP, following directions as provided to maintain safety policy
- Keeping work area clean and organized
- Utilizing all of the required PPE as required by the task being performed
- Help keep others safe in the workplace and participating in safety-related improvements
- Follow the safety protocols for the use of all equipment
OTHER ACTIVITIES
- Having availability to work on any assigned shift including scheduled overtime (including Sunday)
- Establishing personal growth and working with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years’ industrial maintenance experience required
- Welding: TIG, MIG, OXY-Acetylene
- Being able to lift up to 50lbs
- Operating forklifts
- Operating man-lifts and working at heights up to 120ft
- Frequently kneeling, bending, and working with arms raised over head
- Working on back, under equipment
- Ordering parts, working with, and overseeing vendors
- Operating chain hoists and other lifting equipment
- Ability to work on 120 V and 480 V electrical systems
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
