Practice Hospitality is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join the team at Americana Motor Hotel, opening in Flagstaff later this spring.
About The Hotel
Built in 1962 and reopening in late spring, this is yesterday’s hotel of tomorrow, reimagined for today. Parked on historic Route 66 just East of downtown Flagstaff, the Americana Motor Hotel has been fully renovated and in reinventing the roadside retreat as a launchpad for adventure in Northern Arizona. Inspired by the region’s natural wonders and far out history, it will give guests plenty see and do before they head out there. Featuring plush beds, brand new walk in showers, retro-futuristic design, 4K television and premium Wi-Fi, the 88 guestrooms rooms are a little slice of heaven here on earth. And, the amenities are out of this world with a year-round heated pool, cozy fire pits, yard games and a tempting menu of tasty treats and cold canned beverages.
Job Role
Directs and administers all department operations to ensure profitability, control costs and quality standards to ensure total guest satisfaction. This includes Front Office, Housekeeping and Food and Beverage operations.
Responsibilities
- Manages and motivates all hotel personnel to include hiring, supervision, training, communicating objectives for the day, disciplining, scheduling and visually monitoring performance to ensure adherence to all service and productivity standards to provide guest satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff ensuring consistent quality service is provided.
- Checks and controls room reservations, front office systems, supplies inventory, scheduling, forecasting and department budget to maximize revenue.

- Oversee daily housekeeping operations
- Coordinate with GM and Chief Engineer in the repair and maintenance program as it relates to guest rooms and public areas.
- Maintain inventory of guest rooms and housekeeping supplies including all month end inventories.
- Monitor payroll hours and reports and complete reports (i.e., forecasts, annual budgets, plans and action, etc.)
- Compile and prepare financial reports, including rate and availability calendar.
- Communicates with guests and team members both verbally and in writing to answer questions and provide clear direction in advising and instructing staff in details of work.
- Organize, conduct and/or attend meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
- Plan and direct all functions of the Food & Beverage department to meet the daily needs of the operation.
- Prepare, assign and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of the various food and beverage subdepartments.
- Develop, implement, and monitor schedules for the operation of all food & beverage outlets to achieve a profitable result.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 4-year college degree preferred.
- Minimum of two to three years’ experience as Operations Manager or similar position.
