AmericanAg®, a global provider of diversified reinsurance services, is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Catastrophe Pricing Team based out of our office in Schaumburg, Illinois. This is a hybrid position working in the office three days a week.
Reporting to the Actuary & Catastrophe Product Leader, the Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, quantifying, and pricing assumed reinsurance contracts, including occurrence catastrophe excess of loss, and aggregate catastrophe excess of loss.

The Actuarial Analyst Will Be Responsible For
- Assisting actuaries with pricing catastrophe contracts using catastrophe model results and actuarial models
- Collecting, analyzing, and validating statistical data and effectively communicating on data issues
- Participating in and contributing to pricing model development and model parameterization
- Preparing accurate summarized actuarial exhibits for internal customers
- Participating in various projects throughout the year, such as Catastrophe Trend Studies and Pricing Model updates
- Learning existing tools and processes, modifying or creating new statistical tools and improving processes as needed
- Contributing in validating cat modeling results compared to historical experience
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics or a related degree
- Minimum of 3 CAS exams passed and active participation toward achieving the CAS designation
- Minimum of three years of experience working as an actuary
- Reinsurance, large account pricing and experience using catastrophe models is a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of actuarial principles regarding insurance and reinsurance
- Strong mathematical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on tasks independently and be able to collaborate in cross-functional teams
- Data organizational skills and attention to detail regarding data
- Ability to develop, understand and use Excel workbooks
- Experience with Python
