About the Role

Americanflat is looking for a Senior Amazon Manager to lead our existing Amazon team and their sales growth efforts across global marketplaces, and serve as the primary liaison between our company and Amazon’s vendor management teams. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing pricing, promotional deals, inventory health, contractual agreements, and overall sales performance on Amazon’s Vendor Central platform. While Advertising is not part of this role, it is also essential that you are familiar with Amazon Advertising methods.

Successful candidates will have strong management experience, a keen eye for data-driven decision-making, and a solid understanding of Amazon’s ecosystem. Experience with other eCommerce platforms including Walmart, Target, Wayfair, Michaels, Macys, Faire etc is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Amazon teams to negotiate favorable terms and foster a strong partnership while acting as the main point of contact for Amazon Vendor and Account Managers.
  • Set and refine wholesale costs and target retail prices to optimize sales and profit.
  • Analyze profitability for promotional deal submissions. Manage deal acceptance and coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Monitor and address stranded inventory, CRaP ASINs (Cannot Realize a Profit), and lost buy box situations while providing clarity and transparency around issues impacting ASIN availability.
  • Suggest BTR (Born to Run) or DF (Direct Fulfilment) items and analyze retention fees. Implement strategies to mitigate unnecessary retention costs and ensure product availability.
  • Participate in markdown and clearance pricing strategies. Coordinate with internal departments to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
  • Review and accept Amazon Agreements, ensuring compliance with business objectives. Contribute to annual negotiations with Vendor Managers, setting terms to align with company strategy.
  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, Demand Planning, and Product Development teams to drive efficiencies.
  • Collaborate on forecasting, order planning, and demand generation initiatives.
  • Use Lean principles to create efficiencies and documentation/SOPs.

Requirements:

  • Proven management experience with responsibility for team leadership and performance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Amazon vendor processes, listing optimization, pricing, promotions, advertising, and inventory management best practices. Minimum 5 years managing a Vendor Central Account
  • High competence in creating efficient SOPs
  • Strong data-driven approach to problem-solving and strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to interface effectively with Amazon and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and annual term setting.

What We’re Looking for in You:

  • Adaptable & Resourceful: Navigate change and prioritize effectively.
  • Multitasker: Balance multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Creative & Curious: Always seeking new, innovative solutions.
  • People-Oriented: Friendly, diplomatic, and eager to collaborate.
