Job Description

Are you an experienced Cyber Defense Analyst? Then we have an opportunity for you to support the Civil Data Link Cyber Awareness & Resiliency (CvDL CAR) Quick Reaction Test (QRT)..

Aircrew and flight managers rely heavily on aviation civil data links (CvDL) for passing relevant flight and mission information. Users require cyber resilience methods that affect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and support system and mission resiliency in today's contested environment. CvDL CAR test will develop tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) used DoD-wide for interoperability with global air traffic safety and other services. Most mobility aircraft are equipped with CvDL and use it regularly to gain access to preferred civil airspace routing, enhance operational resiliency, and assist in mitigating operational security concerns. CvDL CAR directly provides aircraft mobility solutions and profile options for aircrew and flight managers while maintaining flight safety.

As a Cyber Defense Analyst you will:

  • Develop, test, and evaluate TTP to be used DoD-wide for interoperability and cyber resiliency with global air traffic safety and other services.
  • Participate on a team of driven, supportive and highly skilled professionals.
  • Receive a robust benefits package that includes our Employee Stock Ownership Plan!
  • Enjoy flexibility managing your work hours and personal needs with a single accrual leave plan.

A week in the life of a Cyber Defense Analyst:

  • Use cyber defense tools, collect data, and work with airway transportation systems specialists to analyze events for the purposes of mitigating threats from cyber interference on civil data links.
  • Develop TTP to provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities and distinguish these incidents and events from benign activities.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across a wide variety of all source data sets (indications and warnings).
  • Analyze identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, effects on system and information.
  • Interface with USAF Air Mobility Command, Air Force Joint Test Program Office (AFJO), and Director, Operational Test and Evaluation.
  • Support the CvDL CAR Team Lead with development and execution of a test plan to demonstrate TTP.
  • Support report development and project reviews with Service, interagency, and combatant command entities as necessary.
  • Support the team in assessment design, the establishment of measures of performance and evaluation, and subordinate test requirements to ensure proper and successful data collection and analysis.
  • Offer risk reduction strategies, risk mitigation plans, and fully document existing processes, project enhancements, and test results.
