*Shift Requirements: (4) 10 hour shifts Friday - Monday 8:00am-6:30pm with On Call responsibilities*

Job Summary:
The Nurse Supervisor assists the Nurse Manager with the nurse manager daily tasks. Home visits may be required. The Nurse Supervisor plays a crucial role in the Home Health team by assisting the nurse manager in overseeing and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Nurse Supervisor provides leadership and support to Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Nursing Assistants (NAs), while also engaging directly with patients and their families to offer education, support, and emotional care. Serves as a lead resource for their licensed discipline.

Job Duties:

  • Address and resolve staffing or patient care issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the assignment of clinical staff to patient care after reviewing the Client Information Form.
  • Ensure clinical staff assigned is competent in all areas of care ordered by the physician.
  • Assist clerical staff with patient care concerns.
  • Maintain working relationship with MD office staff for clerical updates and patient care concerns/documentation.
  • Review OASIS documentation and patient admission paperwork to ensure accuracy, completeness, appropriateness of scheduled services and timely completion.
  • Participates in weekly case conferences.
  • Participates in any QA programs as needed.
  • Conducts themselves as a role model for agency staff.
  • May assist the Clinical Manager in completing the written annual evaluation of the field staff RNs and HHAs.
  • Follows all Avow/AmeriCare policies and procedures and safeguards the privacy of patient protected health information.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed in the state of Florida. Minimum of two years of medical/surgical nursing experience, preferably in home health. Exhibit exceptional leadership capabilities.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Florida Drivers License.
Valid nursing license in the state of Florida
Valid/current CPR certification

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
