Hotel Desk Clerk to provide a presence at all times in front office. Reliable for guests to check-in, check-out, extend their stay or communicate any requests, questions, and concerns. Also is the communication link between housekeeping staff, maintenance, and management.

The successful candidate will be a quick learner with a warm demeanor and friendly attitude, be team orientated, and a good problem solver with the ability to think outside the box. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; in an attentive, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Maintain regular attendance, schedules may vary as required according to hotel needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
  • Register all guests in the proper manner, ensure all reasonable requests are met, and proper credit is obtained
  • Remain updated on all rates, packages, room types and changes by season
  • Maintain knowledge of all hotel facilities
  • Answer telephones promptly, using proper telephone etiquette
  • Post charges to guest accounts as deemed necessary
  • Maintain a neat, clean, well-organized work area and ensure all safety rules and regulations are being followed
  • Maintain a cash bank at the contracted amount at all times
  • Properly balance shift work in a timely and correct manner
  • Must be able to act with diplomacy and use good judgment when dealing with various guests/situations
  • Learn rates, packages, locations and features of all rooms, and computer functions
  • Ensure required items, maintain proper stock, and clean breakfast room
  • Perform other duties as required by management

Qualifications and Skills

Required Education: High school or equivalent

Preferred Experience: Hotel Front Desk - 1 year

Other Key Requirements:

  • Please have solid references
  • Must have a flexible work schedule, willing to work weekends and all holidays
  • Mathematical skills and previous cash-handling experience
  • Task-driven individual
  • Must be able to focus on work without direct supervision

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
