The Justice-Involved Liaison is responsible for bridging the gap between justice-involved individuals and essential services, ensuring they receive appropriate support for successful reintegration into the community. This role involves collaboration with law enforcement, correctional facilities, legal representatives, behavioral health providers, and community organizations to facilitate access to healthcare, housing, employment, and social services.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination & Case Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for justice-involved individuals, assessing their needs and connecting them with appropriate services.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans that address legal, medical, mental health, and social needs.
- Coordinate referrals to behavioral health services, substance use treatment programs, housing assistance, vocational training, and employment opportunities.
- Maintain ongoing case management, tracking progress and ensuring continuity of care.
Collaboration & Partnership Development
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with criminal justice agencies, including courts, probation officers, public defenders, and correctional institutions.
- Work closely with community organizations, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to build a comprehensive support network.
- Represent the organization in justice-involved community meetings and task forces, advocating for policies that improve outcomes for individuals transitioning from the justice system.
Education, Advocacy & Support
- Provide education to justice-involved individuals about available resources, rights, and responsibilities.
- Offer guidance on navigating the legal system, including support with probation compliance and court-mandated programs.
- Advocate for justice-involved individuals to ensure equitable access to services, reducing barriers to reintegration.
- Conduct training sessions for staff and community partners on best practices for working with justice-involved populations.
- Maintain clinical oversight and associated trainings per organization standards
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Track program outcomes and prepare reports on service utilization, challenges, and impact.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations related to justice-involved individuals and service provision.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in case management, social services, behavioral health, or criminal justice settings.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of the criminal justice system and community-based support services.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with justice-involved individuals and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural competency best practices.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel locally for meetings and client visits.
- Background check and clearance for working with justice-involved populations may be required.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in reentry programs, probation or parole services, or behavioral health case management.
- Bilingual is a plus.
