Directional Drill Operator/Locator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Locator/Driller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating F5 and drilling equipment and performing various tasks related to drilling operations on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of locating and drilling techniques and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The Locator/Driller will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate and be able to use the F5 locates first and foremost
• Operate drilling equipment, including horizontal drilling machinery, to execute drilling tasks.
• Dig and use mini ex as necessary to prepare sites for drilling operations.
• Must be able to set flowerpots and handholes to spec
• Be able to pull 1.25in conduit and 2in conduit
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members on construction site activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Operate hydrovac when required for site operations, potholing etc
• Must be able to use an F5 locator
• Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, including depth and material type encountered.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while on the job site.
• Must have potholing Experience
• Must have core drilling Experience

Skills

• Proficiency in horizontal drilling techniques and equipment operation.
• Experience with commercial driving, be able to pull a trailers/reels/hydrovac.
• Strong understanding of fiber construction site dynamics and safety practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining individual accountability.
• Strong physical stamina and capability to perform manual labor tasks as required.
• Must not be able to use a shovel if and where is needed

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
