Job Summary:
Americo is currently hiring for a Reinsurance Specialist. The Reinsurance Specialist makes sure that all policies requiring reinsurance are ceded in accordance with treaty provisions so that the Company does not retain more than the limit which it considers to be prudent for its relative financial size. The Reinsurance Specialist must account for and administer all aspects of the reinsured business.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and pay reinsurance premiums on self-administered and cession business
Maintain accurate accounting records-balancing general ledger and quarterly reporting
Update and maintain records on reinsurance administration system
Special projects as assigned.
Provide information as requested from other departments
Quarterly and annual reporting responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting concepts
Experience with Financial Reporting
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Analytical skills-accounting and mathematical
General office skills and accounting skills
Good communication skills- oral and written
Self-starter, independent worker yet a team player
Quality work on a timely and consistent manner
Organized
Detail oriented
Experience with reinsurance administration or life insurance administration is a plus
Education:
4 year degree preferred but not required
