The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of vinyl oven production, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow, managing personnel, communicating job expectations, and developing processes for others to follow. This role includes supervising staff, coordinating with other departments, managing inventory, and ensuring quality control.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Personnel Management:
- Schedule and assign personnel to specific tasks.
- Coordinate with other supervisors to ensure alignment across teams.
- Schedule interviews, hire new employees, and assist with onboarding.
- Enforce rules and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Manage overtime and ensure proper staffing levels during peak production times.

Quality and Production:
- Ensure all products meet the required quality specifications.
- Monitor workflow and address any production issues that may arise.

Inventory Control:
- Manage and track inventory levels to ensure the necessary materials are available for production.

Employee Development:
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for staff.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback to employees.
- Address employee complaints and resolve problems promptly.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a certificate from a college or technical school is a plus.
- 3-6 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and speaking with teams and leadership.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus!
- Strong mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and working with figures like percentages and proportions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to solve practical problems and manage multiple variables in non-standardized environments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise 6 to 12 employees.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and applicable laws, including:
- Hiring and training employees.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Appraising performance and addressing employee issues.
- Rewarding and disciplining employees as necessary.
Mental/Visual/Physical Demands:
- Must be able to talk or hear clearly.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands for handling, feeling, or touching.
- Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands/arms, and perform bending or kneeling motions.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels.
