A Day in the Life: Ammonia Systems Specialist
Join us as an Ammonia Systems Specialist where you will independently navigate the intricate world of refrigeration systems. Start your day with the thrill of problem-solving as you inspect and adjust the complex mechanisms keeping our warehouse at optimal temperatures.
What You'll Do Daily
- Handle the operation, repair, and fine-tuning of our sophisticated refrigeration systems. You’ll ensure every component runs like a finely-tuned machine.
- Execute component replacements with precision, adhering to our stringent LOTO protocols and the PSM program guidelines.
- Apply your expertise to conduct refrigerant evacuation for necessary repairs and replacements.
- Mingle with various warehouse equipment, performing routine maintenance in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Leverage cutting-edge instruments to assess and enhance equipment performance.
Your Skills and Education
- A high school diploma or GED is a must.
- Amass a wealth of experience: 5 years in Industrial Refrigeration or Maintenance, with at least 2 years in industrial ammonia refrigeration.
- Having completed the RETA Operator 1 course is preferred, or a comparable ammonia refrigeration training program.
- Your proficiency in troubleshooting various control systems will shine here.
- Hazmat expertise and completed training in refrigeration and maintenance are required.
Stand Out By
- Displaying exceptional mechanical knowledge and obtain CARO or CIRO certification.
- Adapting to flexible shifts, including on-call duties.
- Fostering knowledge transfer by mentoring your peers.
Physical and Work Environment Considerations
Embrace the elements as you labor in temperatures ranging from -20°F to outside ambient conditions. Climbing to heights of over 35 feet will be part of the adventure, as will operating on catwalks and platforms. Ensure your physical readiness to lift up to 50 pounds and use power tools safely, possibly working nights and weekends.
