Position Summary (Network Technician)
This position is responsible for the highest levels of customer service. Maintaining customer computer networks and ensuring compliance with Americom Network Services standards. As needed dispatching to customers sites to perform necessary computer diagnostics and work orders to repair down systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain and repair client network operating systems, cabling infrastructure and other related components.
· Assist with client Network Management activities but not limited to maintaining Domain Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), DNS services, disk space allocation, wireless access privileges.
· Knowledge and experience of configuring and installing new servers. OS 16/19/22
· Install and test client networks to include: servers, workstations, thin clients, operating systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network related equipment.
· Maintain Americom network and related back-office systems.
· Maintain records of completed work and in-progress systems installations; all tickets entered into Americom system.
· Work directly with Managed Services team to develop customer infrastructure plan.
Expectations of the Job
· Minimum of 3 years Desktop Support including ability to add new desktops to Domain network
· Ability to use active directory and other server resources
· Maintain focus and attention to detail while performing onboarding and service activities
· Troubleshoot network issues, connectivity, printing resolution, scanning issues
· Work assigned/escalated tickets from NOC teams
· Assist SME and vCIO with new technology discoveries
· Assist with development of technology roadmap for implementation at customer site
· Continuing network and security training through authorized Americom resources.
· Ability to work with others to promote teamwork.
· Assist team members in developing and achieving goals for improving productivity and skill levels
· Assist other departments in routine/special assignments
· Attend weekly/monthly company meetings
Physical Expectations of the Job
· Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
· Standing for long periods of time
· Sitting in a fixed area for long periods of time
· Ability to use standard networking tools, punch down tool, toning device, screwdrivers, etc.
Minimum Requirements
Must have an interest in pursuing a career in technology with a focus of network hardware and software applications.
Must have a minimum of three years in a related field with the following emphasis:
· Computer Information Systems (CIS)
· A / Net
· MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional)
· Microsoft Operating Systems; Windows Server and workstations
· Ability to work with basic tools, i.e., screwdrivers, crimpers, etc.
· Basic network wiring (CAT5e, CAT6)

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
