What are the responsibilities and job description for the AmeriCorps Emerging Leaders (ELP) RHT Facilitator NOVA position at AmeriCorps?
Edu-Futuro seeks two Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) Quarter Time (QT) Facilitators to support the implementation of our Emerging Leaders Program in the Northern Virginia area. Pre-ELP, ELP I was designed to prepare immigrant youth for college and develop leadership skills through group and individual mentoring sessions on weeknights and Saturdays. Pre-ELP is a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program specifically designed to help students in grades 6-8 develop their leadership skills as they transition from middle school to high school. It is intended to cultivate vital emotional intelligence, self-awareness, self-management, and leadership skills in participating students. ELP-I is a series of readiness workshops series offered to youth in grades 9-11. The program helps students graduate from high school and build a path to college by developing interpersonal and study skills and providing critical information on postsecondary enrollment, scholarships, and financial aid.
Member Duties : Facilitate ELP I workshops (x/wk). Mentor ELP students. Track student/volunteer data (attendance, progress). Assist with youth events (service, trips, ceremonies). Recruit/train volunteers. Support mentors. Plan community service days. Participate in team activities. Administer/report on pre/post-surveys. Report ELP II financial aid success.
