Communication and Development Specialist VISTA with NYSARH
Rural Health Network SCNY (RHN)'s mission is to advance the health and well-being of rural people and communities. The RHN VISTA program, Rural Health Service Corps, will seek to eliminate poverty in the proposed service areas, and expects to benefit program participants, community members, and host organizations. Several VISTA members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as strategic planning, research, grant writing, training, volunteer management, and coalition building over the course of the next year.
Member Duties : The Communication and Development Specialist [CDS] will be an integral member of the NYSARH Team. The CDS will focus on expanding the reach and impact of NYSARH communication with a goal of also increasing revenue generated by the organization. The largest component of the position relates to communication; this will involve updating social media on a pre-determined schedule, promoting events, and doing press releases as well as print / radio / tv adverts, as well as maintaining the website. Additionally, the VISTA will be the primary facilitator for NYSARH's monthly webinars, marketing and running these events. The CDS will also take part in several committees, including the NYSARH Membership Committee, Development Committee, and Education Committee.
