Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Remote Status: Hybrid possible once fully trained and meeting performance expectations. Position does have an on-site requirement weekly.

The Position:
AmeriCU Credit Union is in search of an Asset Recovery Specialist III who aligns directly with our mission to provide our members with the right financial services to live life, dream big, and achieve financial success, and our vision to be the most admired organization in every community we serve. The Asset Recovery Specialist III will:
- Be responsible for leading the management and execution of repossessions, charge-offs, and the placement of accounts with third-party collection agencies and attorneys.
- This role also includes overseeing the collection and posting of recovery payments, assisting in training and development of other staff.
- The Asset Recovery Specialist will work closely with the Asset Recovery Manager to ensure effective recovery strategies and compliance with regulatory requirements.
What you will do:
As an Asset Recovery Specialist III your primary responsibilities will include:
- Working collaboratively to ensure smooth processing of repossessions, charge-offs, and third-party placements from a leadership perspective.
- Provide guidance to the Asset Recovery team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improving recovery processes and outcomes.
- Responsible for leading the execution of the repossession process from start to finish.
- Coordinate with repossession agents and ensure timely and efficient asset recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of repossession activities.
- Handle charge-off accounts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and document charge-off accounts for future recovery efforts.
- Place accounts with third-party collection agencies and attorneys for recovery.
- Monitor and manage the progress of accounts placed with third parties and update records accordingly.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of external agencies to ensure alignment with credit union standards.
- Provide necessary documentation and information to third-party agencies.
- Collect and post recovery payments received from repossessions, charge-offs, and third-party agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of all recovery payments and transactions.
- Communicate with members regarding the status of their accounts and provide information about the recovery process.
- Ensure all asset recovery procedures are adhered to in order to comply with federal and state regulations.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on asset recovery performance and metrics.
- Utilize reporting tools and software to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Mentor and assist in the training of junior staff.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
