Operations Specialist
Location: 231 Hill Road, Rome, NY 13441
Starting Rate - $16.78/hour to $25.17/hour, actual rate will depend on experience.

The Position:
AmeriCU Credit Union is in search of a Operations Specialist who aligns directly with our mission to provide our members with the right financial services to live life, dream big, and achieve financial success, and our vision to be the most admired organization in every community we serve. As Operations Specialist you will:
- Provide understanding and support of Operational Programs within AmeriCU to promote strong financial and strategic results that are expected to positively impact credit union KPIs.
- Work collaboratively to maintain efficient and effective procedures to achieve department and organization goals in compliance with regulations and professional standards.
- Support the Operations Department in achieving department goals and objectives supporting AmeriCU's strategic plan.
What You’ll Do:
As an Operations Specialist your primary responsibilities will include:
- Acquire and maintain proficiency of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to programs owned by the Products and Process Support Division, including but not limited to:
- AmeriCU’s Courtesy Pay (ODP)
- AmeriCU’s Second Chance Checking Program
- Address Management program
- DocuSign remote signature platform
- Chexsystem Program
- Acquire understanding and application of policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to AmeriCU’s IRA and HSA, to serve as knowledgeable support to the program, systems, administration including:
- Queue Management within IRA Direct for internal General Users and IRA/HSA owners
- Process RMD Letters via management of IRS Distributions records
- Manage requests for IRA and HSA owners received via mail and distribute accordingly.
- Perform Quality Control review of transactions and file maintenance on an ongoing basis consistent with internal processes and conduct resulting IRS record corrections.
- Support the Operations Support Line, as directed, which requires proficiency in general Financial Center and Member Service Center procedures and processes and being knowledgeable of roles, responsibilities, and relationships among support departments.
- Research and respond to internal and external member inquiries concerning operational products and processes
- Exhibiting courtesy and tact are essential elements to the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and outside the organization, including working relationships with Vendors. Will be the champion of any ancillary program changes with the Center of Excellence (COE). Understands the programming and tests all necessary changes.
- Assist with internal and regulatory audits document requests.
- Must be able to work independently, resolve matters in a timely manner. Escalate regulatory, system, and member issues to management as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Operations Manager or AVP, Operations.
