2025 Summer Intern | Medicare - Communications - Hybrid

AmeriHealth Caritas
Philadelphia, PA Intern
POSTED ON 3/7/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/5/2025
Application deadline is April 11, 2025. Submissions after this date will not be considered.

AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies offers paid summer internships to students enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

As an AmeriHealth Caritas intern, you will learn about the health care industry, our Medicaid and Medicare plans, pharmacy benefits management and behavioral health care — and how we are working to improve access to health care for all Americans. You will also join us in building healthy communities through active service projects that support our mission.

Required Eligibility Guidelines: Candidates must meet either of the following eligibility required guidelines to be considered for the AmeriHealth Caritas Internship program.

  • Candidates must be able to work a Hybrid schedule, which is 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.
  • Candidates must be able to fully commit to the approximate 10-week internship program from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025.

Option 1:

  • Candidates must be rising Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors by June 2, 2025, actively enrolled in a full-time undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college degree program, and majoring in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other applicable majors.
  • Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale.

Option 2:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a postgraduate program or professional school (e.g., a Master's program or a law program) by June 2, 2025.
  • Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale.

Responsibilities:

Our Medicare Communications Intern will play a key role in supporting regulatory projects that ensure compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements. This is not a creative role—Medicare Communications is focused on regulatory-based requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to government standards rather than marketing or branding efforts. Interns will assist in tracking projects, organizing materials for review, proofreading content for accuracy, and ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in healthcare communications, allowing interns to develop critical skills in regulatory writing, project coordination, and compliance-based content development.

Education & Experience:

  • Be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills and an interest in regulatory or technical writing (Communications-related interests)
  • Possess excellent attention to detail, with the ability to proofread and ensure accuracy in formal documents.
  • Show adaptability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Work well both independently and within a team.
  • Have basic project management skills, with the ability to track assignments and meet timelines.
  • Understand that prior knowledge of Medicare and health plans is helpful but not required.
