Responsibilities :
Responsible for overall oversight, administration, development, management, and strategic planning for the ACFC Health Equity and CLAS (Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services) program for ACFE diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and limited-English proficient (LEP) populations. This position will support our South Carolina market. Understanding of the South Carolina healthcare landscape is beneficial.
Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of Department of Health and Human Services (DHS), National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA), Office of Minority Health (OMH) and other regulatory standards related to health equity and Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services and activities. Exercises subject matter knowledge of health equity and addressing health disparities in historically excluded groups. Develops and submits documentation and updates required to meet state and NCQA Health Equity Accreditation (HEA) compliance including Annual Work Plan, Year End documents (e.g. Program Description, Program Evaluation and Work Plan).
Collaborates and consistently engages with internal departments and external community organizations to ensure adherence to Health Equity and CLAS program and identifying improvements in language access and equity services for ACCF’s racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse membership.
Actively contributes to the assurance of integrating a health equity framework including culturally and linguistically appropriate communications. Serve as contributor to Health Education, Outreach and Advisory Committee and solicit recommendations from community groups that are focused on culturally responsive interventions, and health literacy.
Supports the development and oversight of efforts that involve piloted interventions, initiatives, education, and partnerships that specifically target racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse members.
Education / Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree healthcare or related field. Degree in Public Health preferred. Masters preferred.
5 to 7 years in managed care / health care organization preferably in health equity, cultural competency and / or quality management.
Strong understanding of health equity, addressing health disparities and cultural competency program development and stakeholder engagement.
