About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team at AMERIND. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for examining insurance applications, conducting research, and making risk assessments to determine the acceptability of new and renewal applications.
This is a critical role that requires strong technical knowledge and skills, including math skills, analytical and decision-making abilities, and effective communication skills. In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be expected to negotiate with customers regarding premium, coverage limits, coverages, and terms and conditions of proposed insurance policies.
A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, along with a minimum of 5-7 years of underwriting experience, is required for this position. Insurance professional designations (CIC, AU, and/or AINS) are preferred but not mandatory. The ideal candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
