Job Summary :
As a Patient Financial Services Specialist at AmeriPharma, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients can access their prescribed medications by identifying customized solutions to minimize their out-of-pocket costs. This role requires a strong understanding of medical and pharmacy billing, particularly within the Medicare Part D program. Your primary mission will be to assist patients in obtaining their medications in a timely and cost-effective manner, while ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.
Schedule Details :
- Location : On-Site (Laguna Hills, CA)
- Hours : Monday to Friday, with a start time between 8 : 00 AM and 9 : 00 AM (flexibility required).
Duties and Responsibilities :
Facilitate enrollment in copay assistance programs, working closely with patients, foundations, prescriber offices, and other departments as needed.Track foundation fund availability and ensure timely enrollment.Communicate with patients regarding available copay assistance programs and any status updates.Report to the Financial Assistance Lead patients who refuse to pay copays or provide necessary financial documentation for assistance enrollment.Report patients who decide not to proceed with the Financial Assistance process to the Financial Assistance Lead.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications :
Patient-Centric Approach : Passionate about providing personalized support to address each patient's unique financial challenges.Attention to Detail : Capable of analyzing patient information to determine the best financial assistance solutions.Billing Expertise : In-depth knowledge of major medical and pharmacy billing practices, with a focus on the Medicare Part D program.Copay Programs and Foundations : Familiarity with copay assistance programs and foundations that support patients.Critical Thinking : Ability to develop creative solutions to help patients access their prescribed medications.Efficiency : Skilled at managing time and prioritizing cases for maximum impact.Team Collaboration : Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with intra and inter-departmental teams to ensure seamless patient care.Specialty Experience : Prior experience in a specialty pharmacy, specialty home infusion pharmacy, or a similar setting is essential.Therapeutic Knowledge : Experience with immunoglobulin (IG) therapies, oncology therapies, and relevant billing is highly preferred.Adaptability : Willing to embrace new information and stay current with major medical and pharmacy billing practices.Multitasking : Capable of handling multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.Education and Experience Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent.Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.Patient financial support services experience preferred.Preferred Qualifications :
Prior experience with medical record software.Previous experience as a Patient Access Coordinator or Financial Assistance Coordinator highly preferred.Proficiency in copay assistance programs and foundation support.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively.Proactive problem-solving with a customer-centric mindset.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications (Gmail, Google Chat, Google Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets).Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems.AmeriPharmas Mission Statement
