Job Summary
As a Pharmacist interns at AmeriPharma, you must act in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the pharmacy. You will have the responsibility to will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and will not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a licensed pharmacist. Intern Pharmacist assists the licensed staff pharmacists in the operation of the pharmacy in accordance with departmental policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive a new prescription order from a prescriber or other person authorized by law
- Consult with a patient or their legal representative regarding a prescription, either prior to or after dispensing, or regarding any medical information contained in a patient medication record system
- Identify, evaluate, and interpret a prescription
- Review and update Care Plans
- Assures that medication prescribing is optimal with respect to indication, dose, route, frequency, history of allergy, and does not duplicate or interact with the effects of other drugs
- Participates in all pharmacy-related tasks and programs such as short-staffed areas, and all other areas as directed/necessitated. Expedites changes needed to meet regulatory, accrediting, licensing, and government agency standards and laws
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Pharmacist Intern licensure in state of practice: Required
- One year or more of Specialty or Retail pharmacy experience preferred but not necessary
- Ability to work at a moderate speed
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to perform task accurately and efficiently
- Reliable and dependable
- Positive and optimistic
- Attentive and detail
- Must have open availability
Schedule Details
- In-Person (Orange, CA)
- Monday-Friday 6:00am-6:00pm, rotating Saturday's 8:30am-5:00pm
