A Financial Advisor is responsible for educating clients on the products and services available to help them best utilize their available funds and achieve important monetary dreams and goals. This professional’s role includes:
One of the main roles of a financial advisor is to be a listener. Advisors listen to their clients to gain insight into their goals, objectives, values, and what’s most important to them.
Listening is the central aspect of communicating well.
Listening builds trust.
Listening helps with empathy.
Advisors should have a non-judgmental attitude, patience, and empathy. They should also be able to relate to people and adapt their communication style to suit a wide range of individuals.
Meet individually with clients to determine their financial objectives, risk tolerance, income, expenses and assets
Offer strategic advice on products and services, such as investments, insurance coverage and debt management tools
Always working in the clients’ long-term best interests, advisors have the ability to identify opportunities to bring new product solutions to clients and move those opportunities through the pipeline through proper follow up and sales
Stay up to date on market research and financial trends
Prep for meetings, going through clients’ financial documents and financial plans, such as income projections and investment reports
Maintain compliance with all rules and regulations in the financial industry
Identify and pursue potential clients to maintain a strong client base
Advisors maintain detailed notes to document client communications (phone calls, meetings, emails, etc) and log them into CRM for compliant documentation

Business Processing:
Review emails and NIGO cases
Complete meeting notes after every client meeting (or ensure meeting notes are completed accurately) with clear, thorough instructions for operations staff
Complete notes in CRM after every client interaction outside of meeting notes
Complete and update client tasks assigned to you
Financial Planning & Advice:
Prepare in advance for client meetings focused on planning discussions
Review agenda and planning slides
Identify advice opportunities and follow-up items from client discussions
Conduct client meetings
Present recommendations and deliver advice
Engage client in Menu of Service selection
Identify opportunities
Follow-up from client meetings
Provide clear instructions for financial planning team as follow-up from meeting
Track/hold clients accountable to agreed upon actions
Contact client for any follow-up items related to transactions or advice
Product Solutions:
Assess the client’s risk tolerance
Assess the client’s goals and time frame
Review client profile and suitability
Analyze and recommend portfolio/robust product solution that will fit the client’s risk tolerance, goals and time frame
Identify opportunities and provide clear instructions to operations for product solution illustrations
Provide clear instructions for client transactions to operations team
Monitor economy, markets, and world events to determine any required strategic rebalancing
Review Account and Monitoring Hub monthly
Conduct Managed Account Reviews

Marketing/Client Acquisition:
Contact prospects for initial intake
Conduct Initial first prospect meeting – gather client data

Pay and Benefits:
Salary will depend on experience and qualifications and will be discussed in a formal interview. Expect a range of $90,000 to $125,000 based on experience and qualifications.
