What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner position at Ameriprise Financial Inc?
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide thought-leadership, consulting with mid-level and above leaders to integrate HR best practices into their decision making and business planning, as well as providing implementation support and tools as needed. Areas of support include workforce strategy, leadership effectiveness and training, talent development, organizational design, performance evaluations, employee relations, compensation, and recommending measures to evaluate and improve effectiveness.
- Maintain strong relationships with business leaders, prioritizing a deep understanding of the firm’s business and the Business Units supported. Consult with business leaders on retaining top talent, improving individual and team performance, and efficiently developing talent within the organization.
- Partner with business leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring that people strategies support and drive business results.
- Utilize data and analytics to inform HR strategies and decisions. Provide insights and recommendations based on data to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) on the execution of key talent processes, including talent assessment, succession planning, performance management, and employee development. Provide leadership through a coordinated implementation approach.
- Work closely with the HR Business Partner team in developing HR strategies and solutions to business issues. Partner with the VP-HR Business Partner and/or Director-HR Business Partner on the research, planning and analysis phases of creating solutions to complex problems, as well as anticipating HR needs within business lines.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience
- 7 - 10 years of related experience, preferably in HR Business Partner roles
- Accomplished HR professional with solid organizational relationship and HR experience.
- Proven ability to lead and influence at multiple levels of organizations.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to integrate information and data from many perspectives and synthesize into meaningful recommendations and solutions.
- Demonstrated project management, strategic thinking, and tactical implementation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Deep business and leadership knowledge with the ability to quickly assimilate existing and new business areas.
- Exceptional relationship building skills and demonstrated ability to coach and influence.
