What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Financial Advisor position at Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC?
Basecamp Financial Planners, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, is adding an Associate Financial Advisor to our team. This person will be a key team member from day one, supporting the practice’s client-facing advisors with daily business operations. This person in this role will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics, as well as legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
This is a full-time, office-based position working 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Thursday and 8 AM to 3 PM on Fridays. Candidates will undergo fingerprinting, a background check, and assessments related to skills, strengths, and/or personality and emotional intelligence.
This role does require the following licenses and registrations: SIE, Series 7, Series 66, insurance license with life and variable contract lines of authority. If candidate does not have the required licenses, they must be in a position to obtain missing licenses and/or registrations within 90 days.
The person in this role is not expected to acquire or service their own clients, but to serve as support to the client-facing advisors in the practice. Career development is important to us and an opportunity to grow into a client-facing role exist for the right candidate.
Salary: $60,000 a year, depending on qualifications, experience, and/or licensing status. Candidates not meeting full licensing requirement will be paid an hourly rate until licensing is achieved.
Key Job Responsibilities
Assist clients with transactions and execute trades
Prepare client forms for signature
Respond to client inquires
Connecting with clients and professional contacts in-person and via phone, text, mail, fax and email
Work with client-facing advisors to manage portfolios for practice and monitor accounts at the practice level
Assess each client’s risk tolerance, goals, and time frame to recommend suitable products
Run hypothetical illustrations and develop tailored product deliverables
Collaborate with client-facing advisors to serve clients on a proactive basis
Manage client data using CRM software
Maintain files and records in accordance with records retention policy
Adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor and Ameriprise Financial
