Job Purpose
The Compliance Coordinator oversees the development and maintenance of quality and regulatory policies, processes, standards, and registrations across to ensure compliance with regulations and standard operating procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the Quality System as the Management Representative.
- Maintain HACCP and Food Safety Plans
- Facilitate external audits, including GFSI certification
- Direct/conduct internal quality audits and maintain overall quality audit program.
- Aid in implementation of customer QS and GMP Requirements and ISO/SQF Standards
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with customers
- Review and provide regulatory feedback on all commercial customer packaging
- Create and manage labels for Government products with regard to US Labeling Regulations
- Maintain relevant certifications
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Food Science or related field required.
- 3 years of experience in quality or regulatory setting preferred.
- HACCP / PCQI certification preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of USDA, FDA, FSMA, Kosher, Organic, and other relevant regulatory agencies and certifications preferred.
- Strong computer skills, with knowledge of regulatory labeling software preferred.
- Must be able to multitask and reprioritize in a quickly changing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with team mentality as well as the ability to work independently and achieve goals with minimal direct supervision.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Position will frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Work is completed in a facility where nuts, fruits and other allergens are present.
