A "Chemical Field Manager" is a professional who applies their expertise in chemistry to provide technical support and on-site assistance to customers in industrial settings, involving the application, analysis, inventory control, and ordering. This includes the troubleshooting of chemical products, including installation, maintenance, and monitoring of chemical feed systems, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and the customer’s needs; requiring travel to customer locations to provide hands-on support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical support: Answering customer questions about chemical products, application methods, and troubleshooting potential issues related to chemical usage
- On-site assessments: Visiting customer facilities to evaluate chemical processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate chemical solutions
- Chemical application training: Educating customers on proper handling, mixing, and application techniques for chemicals
- Sample collection and analysis: Taking samples from customer processes to analyze chemical composition and ensure quality standards are met
- Equipment installation and maintenance: Installing, calibrating, and maintaining chemical feed systems and monitoring equipment at customer sites
- Compliance monitoring: Ensuring customers adhere to all relevant safety and environmental regulations related to chemical handling
- New product introduction: Presenting and demonstrating new chemical products to potential customers
- Technical reporting: Preparing detailed reports on-site visits, analysis results, and recommendations for customer improvement
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Working safely at all times
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a Refinery environment, operating, and/or managing the chemical application of Process chemistry
- Strong understanding of chemistry, chemical reactions, and relevant industry standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose chemical issues and provide solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers with varying levels of technical expertise
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and establish trust
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with onsite contractors and establish trust
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment used for chemical analysis
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to customer location(s)
Other Requirements include:
- Successful completion, and passing of a background check
- Passing a pre-employment Drug Screening, with yearly and random Drug Screening performed
- If male, being clean shaven while on duty
- Maintaining a valid US driver’s license
- Being able to lift and move the pump(s) and hoses required for the safe transfer of chemistry from one vessel to another
- Being able to work at heights, for inspections, if so required
- Being able to pass all On-site Orientation training programs
- H2S and Hydrofluoric Acid training
- Fluent in English
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
