AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, La. The system administrator will be responsible for assisting in the operations, maintenance, and support of all company server and storage equipment to include servers, SAN, NAS, software, and hardware. This position will collaborate closely with other members of the IT department to include but not limited to PC technicians, developers, network administrators, system administrators, storage administrators, and security administrators.
Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.
Qualifications:
- Relevant education and/or certification in Information Technology field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience in server and storage maintenance and configuration
- Proficiency using PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Exceptional knowledge of cloud service providers such as Azure or AWS
- Exceptional knowledge of Application virtualization and VDI
- Exceptional knowledge of LAN/WAN and wireless technology
- Exceptional knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and concepts
- Experience supporting enterprise level server equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot all server hardware
- Install and troubleshoot existing and new network and server configurations
- Implement server and storage upgrades, replacements, and enhancements
- Maintain server and storage documentation and drawings
- Monitor server and storage availability and maintain uptime across all AMERISAFE networks
- Respond to service requests to diagnose and correct equipment failure and malfunctions and replace or repair equipment
- Serve as a role model for diversity and inclusion, supporting the AMERISAFE pillars
- Support Helpdesk personnel as necessary to maintain systems uptime
- Additional duties as assigned
